We had another great October!! On October 15th, we made a special trip to the Oklahoma County Courthouse to complete Bria’s US re-adoption. This allowed us to get a birth certificate written in English which will be helpful when she starts school or sports. It was a very special day and the final step of the adoption process for precious Bria. As we were completing her adoption process, we were informed that our log-in-date for China Princess #2 is September 18th. This is the date our paperwork arrived in China, and this will be the date that ultimately will determine when we get the referral for Bria’s little sister (in likely three years or so).

On the weekend of October 20th, we had a very special visit from Aunt Jen and Uncle Josh. The kids had a great time playing hide-and-seek with them and taking “rides” on their backs throughout our living room. We celebrated Aunt Jen’s birthday, and Bria loved the chocolate cake so much I think she thought it was her birthday!

On October 22nd, Bria had her first gymnastics class and she LOVED it!! She was scared of the balance beam at first, but now she is doing great. She loves to run on the big, long trampoline and jump into the foam pit. She also likes to sit on the trapeze bar and swing high the air. She smiles and giggles the entire time she is in class.

The weekend of October 26th, we had another special visit from GaGa, Papa, Aunt Julie, and Cousins Grace and Hayley. We went to a Pumpkin Patch and the kids had so much fun playing. Bria played in the hay tunnels, fed the animals, went on a hay ride, and picked out her very own pumpkin. She had a great time and so much fun playing with her cousins for the weekend!

We started celebrating Halloween early with our neighborhood fall festival on October 28th. The kids played games, jumped in a moon-bounce, decorated pumpkins, ate treats, and had a great time! On the 29th, we went trick-or-treating with Bria’s and Kaden’s friends Garrett and Connor at a local Christian university throughout the dorms. The kids got lots of candy and had so much fun! On Halloween night, our church had a big fall festival that the kids enjoyed. They played lots of games, ate hotdogs, jumped in a moon-bounce, played in a ball pit, ate cotton candy and popcorn and of course, got lots of candy. Bria’s favorite game was the duck pond—she managed to get almost as wet as the ducks in the pond! She also enjoyed the cake walk, but she made up her own rules for the game. She would walk around as long as she thought was necessary, and when she got the urge, she would head over to the cupcake table to pick out her prize—winner or not. After the festival, we went trick-or-treating around our neighborhood to get even more candy…. The kids had a great holiday week!

We look forward to a visit to Nanny and Papa’s house and to GaGa and Papa’s house in November. As we enter the season of Thanksgiving, we can never thank God enough for the blessing of this precious, amazing child!!
