Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! What a wonderful Christmas season we have had!!! We celebrated Christmas in some way every weekend of December. The first weekend we celebrated at my Air Force Christmas party. Bria saw Santa for the first time this year and immediately started to cry. Santa gave her a present (the Cabbage Patch doll) and talked with her from a distance for a while. By the end of the party, she finally sat on his lap for a split second and was having a great time with him.

The next weekend, we went on a horse-drawn sleigh ride throughout our neighborhood to see all the Christmas lights. We had so much fun! Before we left on the ride, we got to see Santa again. He gave the kids a little gift, and we ate cookies and drank hot chocolate.

On December 15th we had a very busy day. First we went to Bria’s friends Jadyn and Graysen’s Minnie Mouse birthday party. Bria played lots of games, played in a ball pit, ate pizza and cake and had a great time!! That night, we had Daddy’s Oklahoma Highway Patrol Christmas party. Santa and Mrs. Claus both made a visit!! Bria loved Mrs. Claus! She asked Mrs. Claus to “help me” open her present and Mrs. Claus pulled her up onto her lap and held her while she opened her present. She would look over and say hi to Santa, but she did not want to leave Mrs. Claus’ lap—it was so cute!!

December 22nd we made a trip to Nanny and Papa’s house to celebrate Christmas with all of Daddy’s side of the family. All of her cousins, aunts and uncles were there, and they all gave her plenty of attention. She helped her Uncle Doug pass out gifts which we all enjoyed watching. Nanny made her a beautiful quilted blanket for Christmas—a very special keepsake!

On Christmas Eve, we were back home and enjoyed Christmas Eve dinner with GaGa, Papa, Aunt Jen and Uncle Josh. We woke up early Christmas morning to find that Santa had made a visit to our house. Bria and Kaden were so excited to find a playhouse in our living room! When Bria saw it she yelled “eeeeeeeeee” all the way over to it and went right inside—she was soooo happy! Santa also left her a new baby doll, stroller, and diaper bag. She must have been a really good girl this year! That afternoon we had more family come in (Uncle Bud and family and Aunt Glenda and family). Bria had a wonderful time playing with her cousins and opening lots of presents. She had to get every piece of paper off of the gift before she would look to see what it was—so cute!

This has been quite a month of advancements in Bria’s language skills. She is talking in sentences and communicating so very well. With these new language skills, she has become a bossy little girl. I think she tries to make up for her small size with BIG attitude. One day, I was talking to Kaden and she was trying to tell me something at the same time. She became very frustrated, and she finally raised her voice and said “Look at me, mommy!” like she was getting on to me… We are going to be in big trouble! We were at church another day and she was sitting at the table with her teacher, Mrs. Dana. She started asking Mrs. Dana for some gummy snacks. I told her that she did not need any more snacks, and she looked over at me and said “I talk to Mrs. Dana, Mommy!” Sooo bossy! The more she expands her verbal skills, the more she finds herself in time-out. She is pushing all the limits to see how far she can get. She is very independent and very expressive. She can say a lot with just her facial expressions. She has also started to pout. If she does not get her way, she will cross her little arms, sit down in a corner somewhere and make this horrible disappointed face. She will look at the floor and won’t talk to anyone until she decides she is over it, and then she’s back to her jolly little self. She definitely keeps us all on our toes and makes us laugh all the time. She is a precious girl with a bit of a strong will! We are very blessed to have our little firecracker—one of the most amazing gifts we’ve ever received!
