ABREE'S 3rd BIRTHDAY

Happy 3rd Birthday, Sweetheart! Today was Abree’s first birthday at home and we celebrated in Elmo style!! She loves, loves, loves Elmo, so there was no better way to celebrate than to invite her special friend to come to the party! We have been telling her for weeks that Elmo was going to come for a visit, and she asked us daily, “Elmo coming?” She couldn’t wait!

When Elmo rang the doorbell, her eyes were wide open with amazement! She was a bit apprehensive at first, but that did not last long. She danced and Elmocized with her big red friend, and had a great time! Elmo brought a gift for her—a Happy Birthday singing Elmo doll. She loved it! She even gave Elmo a big hug and kiss to thank him for the special present.

We had a great time playing hide and seek with Elmo. We would count and Elmo would hide. He hid in the shower, in Abree’s closet, inside Bria’s tent, behind Kaden’s bed, and inside the kids’ playhouse. Each time we found Elmo, he gave us a prize. We went on a hide-and-seek treasure hunt—Abree had so much fun!!

After playing with Elmo, it was time for cake and ice cream. Abree sang right along with us as we sang Happy Birthday to her…so cute! She blew out her candles like a professional and was ready to eat her little cake.

After cake and ice cream, it was time to open presents and watch a video of her first year at home. She really enjoyed the presents! She received some wonderful gifts: Kissing Elmo, Elmo playhouse set, My Little Pony doll, Barbie puppy vet set, Princess Tiana blanket, Magnetic Paper Doll set, several gift cards and money, cute clothes, and a special pair of gold earrings made in the Ghanaian symbol for “trust God” that Mr. Manison made for her. Her gift this year from Ghana was a beautiful Ghanaian drum that she LOVES!

Abree was blessed to have very special friends and family at her party: Nanny, GaGa, Papa Billy, Mrs. Norma, Mr. Randy, The Manison Family, Aunt Julie, Uncle Bud, Aunt Melanie, Aunt Debbie, Uncle Doug, Aunt Jen, Uncle Josh, Uncle Nathan, Aunt Cristi, Uncle Shawn, Aunt Glenda, Daniel, Rachel, Tyler, Alex, Aubree, Grace, Hayley, Jake, Big Sister Ashlyn, Landen, Kaden, and Bria. A VERY special group!!

She was sad when Elmo had to leave, but after giving him a big hug and kiss she waved good-bye to her new favorite friend. He gave each of the kids an Elmo balloon and he headed back to Sesame Street. What a special guest and a fun way to celebrate our precious baby girl’s 3rd Birthday!

Words cannot express what joy Abree has brought to our family! She has captured all of our hearts and keeps us smiling with her adorable bubbly personality! What a wonderful year we have had with her and we look forward to each and every year to come!! Happy 3rd Birthday, Angel!!
