We have had Claire for a little over three weeks now, but it seems like she has always been a part of our family. She adores her brothers and her sister. We are all finally on EST and sleeping through the night! Our adjustment has been so smooth. Claire will eat anything you give her (except cantaloupe), and she loves milk, or water to drink. She loves new clothes and she gets very excited when she gets to put them on. Claire seems to understand everything we say to her. She follows directions and she is learning to speak English very well. She amazes us every day.

Christmas was wonderful and we were very thankful that we were home and all together. Claire loved the tree and of course the presents. We were concerned that she would be overwhelmed by all the gifts and relatives, but not this girl! She takes everything in stride. Nothing seems to faze her. She loved opening presents which she got the hang of very quickly. She didn’t seem to mind meeting all the many Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins either. She just ran around in her squeaky shoes like she owned the place.

While we were in China, Claire was terrified of high chairs, strollers, seat belts, or any kind of baby seat. We are very happy to say that she is completely past that now. She will now ride happily in a car seat, or a stroller. The last two times that we ate out, she sat in a high chair and she was very satisfied. We took it very slow and did not force anything (except the car seat). It helped that we played Barney in the van during the car seat rides. Last week Claire had a full physical including a chest x-ray from her pediatrician. We are very happy to report that she got a clean bill of health. Her doctor is very pleased and so are we. Her chest x-ray was completely normal. Praise God! He has blessed us all through this entire process.

We are very grateful to the People’s Republic of China for entrusting us with this beautiful, wonderful child. She is truly a joy and we could not be happier.

Smiling like always.

I wonder what's up here?
