Our guides went to the U.S. Consulate this morning to check
everyone’s paperwork for accuracy before our official swearing
in ceremony tomorrow afternoon. While they were at the
Consulate’s office, we all had to stay in our rooms for a couple
of hours in case we needed to be contacted for any questions
they may have had. Once we were all “in the clear”, we loaded
onto a bus and headed for a famous Chinese museum here in
Guangzhou.
The museum building was very ornate and beautiful, and the
treasures inside were magnificent. Claire loved listening to a
musician play traditional Chinese music on different types of
flutes and other instruments made from gourds. The music was so
hauntingly beautiful, that we bought a CD! After the museum we
amazingly did even more shopping before heading off to dinner.
We ate at a wonderful Thai restaurant where we enjoyed some of
the best food since we’ve been in China. The atmosphere was
almost carnival-like as the waiters, waitresses, and even the
security guard danced, sang, and played instruments for our
enjoyment. A very good time was had by all as we ended another
magnificent day with our beautiful daughter. |
