GOTCHA DAY!
We arrived at the hotel that Claire stayed at last night and we
didn’t even have time to get the cameras out before they brought
her to us. The orphanage director came with her. She had spent
the night at the hotel the night before.
She came to us and didn’t cry at all. She studied us closely and
let us feed her right away. She made eye contact right away
which was really promising. The director told her we were Mama
and Baba. She would look at the correct one when the director
would say Mama or Baba.
We think she is really bright. She loves the dog that Aunt Kathy
and Caitlin got her and she grabs it if you say “Where’s Guh Guh?
(Chinese for dog, but not sure if I spelled it right.) She likes
to rub it’s ears. She also loves the ball that we brought her
and she laughed out loud when we got it out. She is right now
playing with an animal puzzle on the bed with James and trying
to imitate the noises. She can already put the animals in the
right places. She loves for us to clap for her (just like
Daddy). She has hardly cried at all. We have had lots of
laughing and lots of smiles. She does not want a nap and that is
okay with us! We would rather play.
As you can tell, they cut her hair and I won’t be using the bows
anytime soon which is a shame because she got very excited when
she saw the new clothes and shoes I had for her. The 18-24
months size is fitting her perfectly right now. I think she
weighs about 26-27 pounds.
We so appreciate all the prayers that we know have gone up for
this precious gift from God. She is truly an answer to prayer.
She seems very healthy. We are in awe.
Chase, Connor and Laura, we can not wait to get home and
introduce your new sister to you. She is wonderful and a joy to
play with. She loves looking at the pillow with your picture on
it.
We will all be together soon! We love you!! Mom and Dad |
