It is such a great feeling for both of us to be right by Claire’s side as she awakens. She is so happy to see us and immediately sits up, smiles, and wants to play! We started out our day today with a big breakfast in the hotel restaurant. In addition to finding out that Claire is a big fan of all sorts of yummy food, Mama found out that Claire especially loves toast with strawberry jam and pieces of banana on top. After breakfast, we ventured to a local park with our guide Fontana. The park was very big and had hiking trails, lakes, caves, and even a zoo! Claire loved watching the birds and monkeys.

Claire loves playing with her toys in the room and was very apprehensive about leaving the room at first, but now is very comfortable about venturing out with both of us close by her side. We went to a local store today called Treasure of Guizhou which has many handmade items from Claire’s province. This very small shop has a unique assortment of hand-made embroidery, dolls, crafts, and jewelry. We bought many items at this store as we did some Christmas shopping and made sure Claire had a sampling of keepsakes from her little corner of China.

After dinner, Claire ended her day by reading her books, feeding her baby dolls, and doing laps around the hall with Daddy. She has the biggest smile, the sweetest laugh, and dozens of funny little faces she likes to make. We can’t wait for our family and friends to meet this little ray of sunshine.
