Sunday, December 17, 2006 This morning after breakfast, we went back to Shamian Island to do some more shopping. While we were there, Keri found a beautiful little traditional Chinese outfit that you see Claire wearing in all of today’s pictures. She didn’t want to wear it at first but eventually warmed up to it and wanted to show it off (she of course had to get some “squeaky shoes” to match). With Claire’s squeaky shoes, drum, and jingle bell bracelet, you can hear her coming a mile away! Claire is so full of personality and loves her Mommy and Daddy so much. While we were taking pictures in the lobby, a Spanish family who is also here to adopt couldn’t stop watching Claire with amazement. Claire ran over and kissed both of us and the woman was almost in tears as she anticipated her own “gotcha day”. We are so thankful that Claire and the other newly adopted children seem to be adjusting beautifully so far. It is so hard for us to believe that these beautiful children didn’t have families just a few short days ago, but now all of them have “forever families” that love them unconditionally. Our guides will go to a consultant appointment on our behalf tomorrow to process some additional paperwork, and then we are all going to a museum.
