"It
takes a long time to grow an old friend. "
~John Leonard
I'll admit, I had
one little selfish motive in mind when considering the idea of a
fall festival: the hope that we'd receive updated photos
from some of those first myadoptionwebsite families!
Every single family we work for is special to us . . . we're
honored each and every time an order arrives in the in-box.
But there will always be an extra-special something about those
first families who took a chance on us - - who entrusted us with
the job of keeping them connected with their loved ones back
home.
We'll
always be grateful!
One such mom is Julie, who made my day with her sweet email, a
photo of her gorgeous daughter Kamryn, and the delicious recipe
below. She learned this recipe in a class at Williams
Sonoma years ago. Thanks so very much, Julie - for
everything!I hope
you'll enjoy the photos of these first myadoptionwebsite
kids! Oh my, how they've grown!
Pumkin Dessert Squares
1 box yellow cake mix
1/2 cup butter, melted
3 Eggs
1 jar Muirhead Pumpkin Pecan Butter
(found at Williams Sonoma)
1/8 cup milk
1 tbl flour
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup butter, softened
1 tsp cinnamon
Reserve one cup of the cake mix and mix the remainder with the
melted butter. Add one egg and mix in. Press lightly into the
bottom of a 9x13 pan.
Mix the jar of Muirhead Pumpkin Butter with two eggs and the
milk. Pour over the cake mixture in the pan.
Combine the reserved cup of cake mix with 1 tbl of flour, 1/4
cup of sugar, 1/4 cup of softened butter and the tsp. of
cinnamon. Mix until crumbly and then sprinkle over the pumpkin
layer.
Bake at 350 for 35-40 minutes or until golden.
Cool on rack and cut in squares to serve.
