A BLOOMING FLOWER!
Well, today started out with a 7:45 doctor’s appointment (If you
can call it that!). We were whipped through so quick we even
made it back to the hotel for the famous breakfast buffet! Zoe
weighed in at 26 pounds and about that tall. The doctors
listened to her heart looked over her paperwork and sent us on
our way! Only one more appointment to go, but I have heard the
consulate apt is 3 hours long!!!
Breakfast was yummy and so much fun! I took Zoe around the
buffet line and let her pick and choose what she wanted and she
ended up with a plate full! Her #1 choice was pea pods and tons
of them. She sat on my lap and ate and ate and ate some more-she
even out did Tom! From our table we watched the boats go up and
down the river. I would point and say “boat” and Zoe would
repeat me. We couldn’t believe it! She made a little friend
sitting close to our table and they chatted back and forth
together. This family is from California and my heart was
breaking for the momma! She was not prepared for the rejection
she receives from her new daughter that she only wants daddy. I
totally felt her pain and told her we had experienced the same
thing. After our 2 hour breakfast, we tried the playroom in the
hotel and Zoe wanted nothing to do with that.
After naptime we all hit the road running! It seems Zoe is a
shopping girl! We walked in a little shop and she grabbed the
hat she liked and 2 bracelets she thought were pretty. She wore
them all day long and kept shaking the little bells on them.
When we stroll by all the shoes she gets all excited and points
and jibber jabbers something.
Close to the hotel is a little park, well Tom calls it and adult
outdoor aerobic room, we wanted to see what Zoe would do or not
do. She saw the slide and got all excited and wanted out of her
stroller. So I took her out and she took off walking with daddy
right behind her! She is not a very good walker! Either she
didn’t get to walk a lot or she has really bad balance. We
aren’t worried—we have the perfect remedy-it is called Zach and
Bailey! I know she is going to learn so much from watching them
and you all know our kids for some reason can’t sit still longer
than 5 min. Zoe wanted to go down the slide so bad, but could
not work up enough courage to do it until she spotted a little
girl and boy playing on the slide then she wanted to follow them
everywhere.
For dinner we got to meet up with 2 other families that are
adopting through our same agency. It was nice to chat with their
families and listen to their challenges and victories! They kept
saying we are so glad to be here finally it is so nice and Tom
and I said we want to go back to Hangzhou it is so beautiful! It
was nice to find out that both families along with us shared the
same frustrations with our agency. Zoe decided she was joining
daddy on his “See food diet” she ate everything in sight,
shrimp, peapods, fried pig ears (well that is what it looked
like), rice, sweet and sour chicken and ice cream. I guess she
is making up for the first 3 days she didn’t eat anything. The
entire meal she was talking to the other kids and laughing.
We were so encouraged today again! Laughter is such good
medicine for the soul! Each day we are seeing this little bud
open up little by little. Her smile and giggles, yes you can
probably guess, had Tom and I in tears. Well, I am totally
babbling because I am so tired. Thank you for your prayers we
are seeing them working in our little Zoe!
Zach and Bay 2 days left!!!! We are so ready to come home and
hug your guts out! Daddy is ready to have the biggest tickle
fight of your life! So you both better be ready to take on the
Big Bad Tickle Monster! All our love!! Momma and Dadddy |
