FINAL WAITING DAY
Let the count down begin! Less than 12 hours and we will be
united with our little princess. After 9 long months of waiting
and praying for Zoe, the moment is nearly here. We are both so
excited but also a little nervous, but a good nervous with a
million different thoughts going through our heads. Only 14
hours until we get to meet our little princess!! We got suckers,
bubbles and a doll to take with us when we meet her and a
variety of snacks are ready in the room, surely something we
bought she will like. Please pray for her foster mom as we are
so sure this will be a very hard day for her along with Zoe. God
promises to bind up the broken hearted and we are believing God
will do this for both Zoe and her foster mom who has loved her
for the last 6 months.
We started the day out at 5 am this morning so maybe by the time
we go home I will get to sleep until 8 am. Anyway we headed
outside and watched all the aerobics going on, it was so cool!
All the way down the boardwalk on both sides of the street
people young and old were doing a sort of kung foo stretching
and exercising. Our exercise was hiking to the very top of the
mountain to see the pagoda and several different caves! It was
absolutely breathtaking!!!! I wish each one of you could see
first hand! I have to inform you that I faced my fear of the
squatty potty head on today and didn’t even get any on my feet
or pants!! I really had no choice since we were at the top of
the mountain! We hiked back down and decided to walk all the way
around the lake and I think we had to have walked at least 1000
miles, at least thats what my feet were saying.
We have made 2 friends in Hangzhou today!! Our first friend’s
name is Jerry and he is a Hangzhou native and a taxi driver. He
speaks very very good English! He stopped us while we were
walking and offered us a ride and a tour of the tea farmers
house so we jumped in his car! Jerry taught us so much today
about Chinese culture and tea making. He told us there are so
many weddings today because of the moon festival and it is very
good luck to be married today. He also said last year parents
didn’t want their kids to get married because it was the year of
the chicken and if they married then they believe one spouse
could die. Jerry talked to us the entire drive up to the tea
farmers house and believe you me I think I asked him 1 million
questions! At the farm we learned how to pick the tea and all
about the different qualities. Then we got to go to the farmer’s
house and drink the tea, but before you go in to drink tea Tom
had to draw water from the well in order to wash our hands,
faces and hair. After we finished Tom was to pour out the water
to wash away bad luck. We bought Tea from the farmer who reached
right in her harvest bag and filled up our container-Tom was
very impressed with that.
Next Jerry took us to the Dragon Well where the Emperor once
went to think and when he was done thinking he went to the well
and a piece of his hair fell into the well. So it is a tradition
to take a stick and stir the water and then look for the
Emperor’s hair. Believe it or not we did see it and the people
all around us got so excited!
Our next friend we met is Shania and she works at Starbucks!!
She is so very sweet and I even asked her to come home with me,
but she likes her job here. We sat at Starbucks for a couple of
hours people watching and talking to Shania.
Please be praying for us and our big day tomorrow! The next time
we post you will finally see the pictures you all are waiting to
see- Zoe Girl!
Zach and Bay we love you two to the moon and back and around the
world 1 million times!!
