“The
best thing to hold onto in life is
each other.”- Audrey Hepburn
Wow! We can’t believe that four months ago we were on our way to
China. These past four months have gone so quickly, but time
does fly when you’re having fun. Life with Caroline is such a
joy. She has brought so much fun and laughter into our home that
come with having a little person discovering everything for the
first time.
Since our last update we celebrated St. Patrick’s Day- one of
Mommy’s most favorite holidays with our Irish Soda Bread and
Irish music. Caroline loves music. She dances to anything with a
beat and loves to listen to all kinds of music. Caroline also
celebrated Mommy’s birthday. She is walking all around the house
now- climbing the stairs and chasing the dogs. She can run
faster than we can catch her. This is amazing to us since
Caroline was barely crawling four short months ago. Her
vocabulary is growing each day. Her words include: “Mum” which
means “mom”, her own version of “thank you”, “uh-oh” which is
usually exclaimed with perfectly correct intonation after
something unfortunate has happened such as a spilled drink,
“mmm” which she says when something is delicious to her, and
“ball” which Daddy was very happy to have taught her after a
game of rolling the ball. Her favorite foods are any kind of
fruit, especially blueberries and strawberries. She loves taking
care of her puppies. Mimicking what we do to take care of them,
Caroline walks Bentley around the house on his leash, feeds them
biscuits, calls them to dinner, and pets them lovingly. Her days
are very full of playing with the big kids and running errands
with Mommy. Since the kids were off from school we went into the
Museum of Natural History to see the Silk Road Exhibit. Caroline
was very good in the car as she had a new Barney Easter DVD to
help pass the time. The exhibit was great and we saw an
authentic Chinese concert. Caroline liked the music and danced
when the performers played. We all had a great time at the
museum and really enjoyed the Silk Road Exhibit. We went to the
flower garden before Easter as we knew that the Easter Bunny
would be there. Caroline wasn’t quite sure what to make of him,
but she had a good time running around and looking at all the
flowers. After that she had her first taste of Starbucks which
she thoroughly enjoyed.
On Easter Caroline was visited by the Easter Bunny who brought
her lots of fun toys for the spring. She had fun running around
in the beautiful weather with all the kids and even found some
eggs of her own!
The past four months have gone fast, but they have been
wonderful. Caroline is doing so well and she has brought so much
joy to our family. On this Easter we know that we are most
thankful for the blessing of our little Caroline Mei.
Happy Easter!
