Well it has been quite a long time since our last post. We have been very busy with school, work and the holidays. Caroline Mei is doing so well and expressing herself so much! She is starting to say phrases like “Where’d she go?”. She also says the names of everyone in the family, including the dogs! She likes to play games like Patty Cake and she loves to play Ring around the Rosie with everyone. Caroline will walk around the room and pick each person to play- she is quite the little leader! Christmas was so exciting this year for us. Last year Caroline didn’t quite understand that she was getting gifts on Christmas day, but this year was different. She got a Radio Flyer Roller Coaster, a Teeter Totter, an activity table with lots of fun battery cars, a fairy house and lots of other little things. “Santa’s elves” had fun assembling all of her toys and seeing her reaction on Christmas morning. She definitely understood this year. One of her most favorite toys is the Radio Flyer roller coaster. She can set it up by herself and always asks someone to wait at the bottom to catch her after counting to three.
Caroline’s favorite show is the “Fresh Beat Band”. She loves to watch videos of it on Alison’s laptop. She also is a fan of Barney. She knows all of the choreography to her favorite songs. Caroline is really musical. When the ipod or radio is on, she will dance in the middle of the room and she often sings her favorite line from the “Fresh Beat Band” song; “laaaaaaa”. Another favorite is Kai-lan. When she sees her on TV or in the store she says “Kai”. Caroline is starting to play pretend. She has a Disney Princess kitchen that she likes to make food with. She will carry little plates of food around the house and hand them out to members of the family, saying “thank you”. She is ever-so polite! Caroline is also becoming quite a girly-girl much to her sisters’ delight. She has a pretend beauty set with hair styling tools and nail polish. She asks us to sit with her and do her hair and makeup. She also enjoys getting her nails painted with real nail polish. She sits patiently while her nails are painted and then blows on them to dry them.

Caroline is really blossoming into a bright and loving little girl. She takes care of her dogs and loves them so very much! When mom takes the dogs out for a walk she will get their leashes and coats and tell them to “go”. Caroline is very loving and affectionate toward her dogs. She amazes us each day with all she learns and all she knows. We are looking forward to a new year with her and all she will continue to learn. Looking back on last December we brought home a little baby. Now we have a little toddler. She has a lot to say and the cutest personality. It is somewhat sad to have had such a short time with her as a baby but we are so happy that she is growing and thriving, becoming such a wonderful person that we feel so blessed to have in our lives.

Thanksgiving morning.

I think I’ll nibble my chocolate turkey now.

Peppermint is yummy!
