We witness a miracle every time a child enters into life.
But those who make their journey home across time & miles,
growing within the hearts of those who wait to love them,
are carried on the wings of destiny and placed among us
by God's very own hands.
~Kristi Larson
As of two days ago on February 17, 2010 we have been home from
China for two months. It is hard to believe that so much time
has gone by since our journey to China. So much has happened,
even since our last update. Caroline is doing great in her home.
She does many more things now and is starting to actually walk
around. She expresses herself clearly by shaking her head “yes”
and “no” to tell us what she wants to do, she clearly says
“mama”, “bye bye” and imitates other things we say like “thank
you” and “uh uh” for “no”. She loves to play and is really a
very bright and happy little girl.
Last week we went to our agency’s Chinese New Year party. All
the girls (even mommy) wore their silk dresses from China.
Caroline loved the Dragon dance. Over the weekend we celebrated
Valentine’s Day with dinner from our favorite restaurant and
Caroline tried some of the food - she especially liked sweet
potato fries. We had a snow day last week and Daddy and Ryan
built a snowman. Caroline came outside for a little while to see
the snow and she even went down to the beach for some fresh air.
Caroline has adjusted so well. She wakes up with a smile
everyday, loves her puppies, plays all different games, and
gives hugs and kisses to the family. Unfortunately everyone has
resumed their hectic schedules of school and work and left
behind our extended winter vacation, but it is always so nice to
come home to Caroline Mei’s smiling face. It is cold and snowy
so we anxiously await the day that we can go outside and enjoy
the beautiful spring weather with her and all that the season
has to offer. Right now Caroline is getting ready for St.
Patrick’s Day and a visit from the Easter Bunny and later in the
season she will have her 2nd birthday. As we look back on our
trip to China we feel so very blessed for our new daughter and
sister. We are thankful for the memories of our trip and we are
looking forward to new memories and experiences with our
Caroline Mei.
And
thank you for a house full of people I love. Amen. ~Ward Elliot
