Another good night’s rest from our Sleeping Beauty. She did not wake with a fever. Thanks for the prayers.
Today’s sightseeing was a trip to Xiangshan Park and Temple in North Guizhou. The park scenery was so beautiful and serene. The view was absolutely breathtaking. Alivia had her very first ride in a stroller. She wasn't too happy at first, bt I coaxed her with veggie puffs and she seemed to be ok. At the park, we learned much about the history of Guizhou, as it is a multi-ethnic province with 16 different ethnics. It is great to know some information about the province where Alivia is from. Bought a book also all about Guizhou. A local artist and author was present and each of the families received a hand-painted poetry scroll with their babies’ name written in Chinese. What a great keepsake to hang in their room. As we took the long, winding road to the Temple there were wild monkeys everywhere. The Temple (Buddist) is from the Ming-dynasty and is located in the heart of Zunyi.
Lunch was of course Chinese, but this time was Cantonese style. Not quite sure what to make of it. Probably the least impressive meal we’ve had. Everyone is still hoping for a trip to McDonald’s before we go home. All of families mentioned at lunch today how homesick we all are. We understand the process, but are so looking forward to being united with our families and friends.
Spent another relaxing afternoon in the hotel room playing with Alivia. She is so much fun. She has the most precious personality. She’s a very calm, quiet little girl. She spends much time watching me doing everything. She is quite a fast learner. We’ve only had to show her stuff once or twice before she catches on. Her favorite games are giving kisses, sticking out her tongue, playing “bouncy bounce” and “Where’s Alivia” (peek-a-boo). She is also very attached to a stuffed lamb, “Lacey”, I gave her upon meeting. She never lets go of it, as you probably have seen in most of the pictures. She gives it hugs and kisses. We are just enjoying every moment with her. As I have said, she is the joy that fills my soul. Can’t wait for everyone back home to fall in love with Baby Livy, too. Until Later.
9:45 p.m. – All the families received a nice surprise this evening at dinner. Jane from CWA is here and will remain with us until we leave on Saturday. It was good to finally meet her. Prayers are now needed for one of the precious babies in our group, Autumn Joy, who has been sick since Monday with a terrible cough and fever. Her Mommy and Daddy took her to the hospital this afternoon and she has bronchitis. Continue to keep Alivia in your prayers as the fever is back this evening and she didn’t eat anything at dinner. I pray she’s not getting sick, too.
To our families, only eight more days until we are home. We are so missing all of you so very much!
     Love, Lisa and Jennifer
