ALIVIA'S PARENTS

Through God’s Sovereign plan for our family, we are adopting a precious “bundle of joy” from Guizhou Province, China. We thank God for His goodness in allowing this wonderful blessing for us! After much prayer over a 5-year period and realizing our family was not complete, we felt called by God to adopt. After our paperwork (aka “paperwork pregnancy”) was in order, our dossier was logged into China on June 30, 2005. Thirteen months to the date, we received our referral call for Alivia Grace Li. We ask that you listen to God as He speaks to you, and trust Him in all ways and He will make all things happen according to His will.

“Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this:
to look after orphans and widows in their distress…” James 1:27 (NIV)

“For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11

OUR LETTER TO ALIVIA

Dear Precious Baby Girl,

Since the beginning, we have been in constant prayer for you. You weren’t even born when this journey of faith began in November of 2004. God heard our prayers! The long process of 20 months was all worth it! The moment we heard about you we were in love! Then when we saw your pictures – the tears were overflowing. They were tears of joy and thanksgiving to God for blessing our lives with another beautiful, precious baby girl to love. Alivia, your eyes are so innocent, your face is so pure. We have prayed to God to give you dreams of your new family and that you may know that you are already loved by us, your earthly Mother and Father, and most importantly by your Heavenly Father.

We cannot wait to hold you, kiss you, and love you more than you will ever want to be loved. You have a big brother, Doug, who is away at this time in the US Air Force stationed in England. You will meet him at Christmas. You have a big sister, Mary, who is overjoyed to finally have a baby sister. She will be waiting at the airport when we bring you home, Lord willingly, on September 28. You also have grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and a wonderful church family waiting to spoil you and love you, too.

Oh, Alivia, this day can’t come soon enough – We need to hold you now. Only a few more days until I (Mommy) meet you for the first time. Oh the joy that will fill my soul! Love, Mommy and Daddy

“I prayed for this child, and the Lord has granted me what I asked of him.”
I Samuel 1:27

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding,
in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths.”
Proverbs 3:5-6

Our Precious Child

With anxious hearts and open arms,
We sought you everywhere.
You dear child, are a gift from God,
The answer to our prayer.
No matter whether birth or choice,
A home is blessed from above.
When caring parents claim their child,
A family is formed by love.
