Sleeping Beauty awoke at 8:15 a.m. just as sweet as could be!
Other
than waking at 2 a.m. for a few minutes, Alivia slept close to
12 hours.
Way to go for the first night. I wish I could say the same for
myself.
I didn’t get much sleep but it was worth it. I was just in awe
of how
precious she is sleeping like an angel and the fact that she is
truly
ours. Reality has not set in yet. I am so enjoying the dream
right now.
By 9:30, we were all dressed and out the door for a quick breakfast
at the Aroma (a restaurant in the hotel). Meet our group in the
lobby at
10:00 and visited the Jiaxiu Tower (Chinese translation “most
beautiful
place”)and Wenchang Pavilion located in Central Guizhou. Built
in 1598,
the Tower is the city’s landmark and is linked with the Fuyu
Bridge
which provides access to both the south and north banks. The
Pavilion
built in 1609 is a three-story building under a three-eave roof
with nine
irregular edges. Very unique. Our guide informed us that this is
typical
architectural style of the area. Inside there was a garden and
mini
waterfall. Very beautiful site. After going to WalMart which was
underground) for necessities, we enjoyed ANOTHER Chinese meal at
a very nice
restaurant. Many of us were hoping for KFC or McDonald’s –
Michael, our
guide, said maybe later in the week.
We are now enjoying some quiet time until dinner. Alivia is napping
and I am catching up on e-mails and journaling. I should be
taking a nap
myself. Alivia is doing very well with her new Mommy. She is
learning
so much so quickly. She has the sweetest smile and cutest
giggle. Must
go to dinner, I'll write more later.
7:45 p.m. – We just returned from dinner. Not much to post but I
would ask you to please keep Alivia in your prayers as she woke
from her
nap earlier today with a high fever, and when I put her to bed
she still
was quite warm even after two doses of children’s Tylenol. She
is
eating and drinking a bottle, so that is good. I think she may
be teething,
but I’m not sure.
Thanks and God bless – Lisa |
