Today we visited the Capital building of Chongqing. It was very
beautiful! It is amazing how much work they put into the beauty
of their buildings. Afterwards, we went to the Three Gorges
Museum. It was full of history of Chongqing, and we were even
able to see a movie that contained footage of Fengdu, which is
where Bria is from. We are enjoying learning as much as we can
about China and Chinese culture.
We had another wonderful Chinese lunch today. All of the meals
are served family style. Each dish is placed in the center of
the table on a lazy susan type platform, and as the food passes
in front of you, you take what you want. The plate you are given
to eat from is about the size of a saucer and you are given a
small cup to put rice in. Each person only takes a small sample
of food at a time, and if you’re still hungry, you get another
small sample. We understand now why the Chinese people are so
tiny! I think everyone in our group has lost weight since
arriving last week.
This afternoon we received Bria’s passport!! We were so excited!
We leave early in the morning to fly to Guangzhou. We are sad to
be leaving Chongqing—Bria’s birthplace, but we are excited to be
one step closer to America!
