Today was one of those days that not too much went on because we
were getting ready to fly to Guangzhou. The last leg of the trip
is right around the corner. We had a leisurely morning of
packing and “reading magazines”. We had a brief meeting with our
guide Jenny to go over some official paperwork and then it was
off to the airport.
I will spare you all the planes, trains and automobile details,
but let’s just say that adopting from China is not for sissies.
We have decided that if we make it here, we can make it
anywhere. There was a lot of in and out of vehicles, and buses
to finally make it on the plane to Guangzhou. An uneventful
flight was appreciated and Libby was tugging her ear a bit on
take off and landing but did not cry at all. She did really
well. If you run into Jay or Brynn after reading this, ask them
about the on board snack. It was a hot cross bun looking dough
ball filled with raw sugar cookie dough. They were very excited
about that Chinese delicacy.
We met our new guide Kelly at the airport and made it safe and
sound to The China Hotel (a Marriott Hotel) in Guangzhou. We
were excited to see Starbucks signs and a bustling city that
looked a little like Vegas as we rolled in! Through it all, Miss
Libby just rolled right along, as if she has always been a part
of this family. Now she is….finally…forever! |
