HOME
FOR 10 DAYS!
I can't believe we have been home for 10 days already. The fog
of jet lag has lifted, and I feel like I have perspective again.
It has been a whirlwind but little Miss Libby continues to amaze
us.
The greeting at the airport was so fun, although we had just
disembarked from the plane after nearly 25 hours of travel. We
came out of customs to a huge Welcome Home sign and smiling
faces. I didn't know how Libby would handle it. She was great
but had a little trepidation at first. I stood back and watched
her as she looked at her Mimi (my Mom), Aunt, Uncle and Cousin
for the first time. Our close friends who are like family were
there, with their children with signs and balloons. Libby was
just checking everyone out and loving all of the little kids. I
collapsed in pure exhaustion, and pure elation!
The last week and a half was spent at home with lots of visitors
and tending to our jet lag. It was pretty bad. Libby has been
sleeping alot and we could tell she was feeling the time change.
She has settled into a nice routine and is just so darn happy!
We feel even more bonded and love seeing her personality unfold
even more. She has been exposed to a very cold Michigan with
lots of snow and takes it all in while smiling! Now, it can't
all be easy right? Libby and our dog Pixie are trying to figure
one another out. Libby is super excited to see Pixie, and Pixie
is...well, not so much.
I think the best part is that I can literally see Libby growing.
She looks bigger and fuller. Her strength has improved
immensely. She loves to pop up and stand (with assistance) and
has been trying to scoot. I bet she'll walk before she crawls.
She slept in the crib in her room for the first time last night
and is snoozing as I type.
Brynn still makes Libby squeal in delight everytime she walks in
the room. That is the best. Brynn pitches in with diaper
changes, playing with and holding Libby too.
Jason went right back to work and caught a bad cold. That hasn't
slowed him down from being an amazing Dad and best Husband ever.
I know he loved it when I ran out to Target just as Libby
pooped, and Brynn's Mac N Cheese was almost done boiling on the
stove. He's a pro, and blessed my trip to Target! Yikes!
I love that I'm able to be home 100% right now. I'm not working
again until April and have given myself permission to be guilt
free from that. I am taking the girls to Florida to see Jason's
Mom and have planned a trip to Florida with just Libby and my
Mom (and sisters) too. After 25 hours of travel, we can go
ANYWHERE, especially within 3 hours by plane. This time is a
gift. This is what it's all about!
We cannot thank you enough for all of your messages on our
guestbook. We will be able to save this entire site for Libby to
see when she's older. Libby will know she was loved well before
we met her, and many many people cared to hear her story. Jason
and I feel complete, at peace and so aware of God's grace, love
and faithfulness. Much Love to you All!! |
