Libby LeFan was
born Wan, Le Fan on February 14, 2012 in Jiangxi, PR China. The
day after she was born she was placed on the caring steps of the
SWI Wanzai County with a note of her birth information. She has
been residing there for the last 10 months and is on her way
“home” very soon. We had been waiting so long to be matched with
our daughter, that when the day came, it was hard to believe it
was really happening. It is amazing how one phone call can
change everything…
It was a typical busy Monday, July 30th 2012 at 5:30 pm, when I
received “the call”. There had been rumors for days that
referrals were coming, and our Log-In Date was next in line. I
heard the cheerful voice of our referral counselor say—“I have
news about your daughter” and my heart skipped a beat.
Everything faded to silence and I took in the news that we had a
“Valentine’s Day” baby, she was 5 ˝ months old, 10 lbs, 21
inches, and healthy! It was a great day! I told Jason and Brynn
the news and we waited for the email to come with pictures of
her precious face. We gathered around the laptop and waited for
the “Stork to Land”. When the email came, we looked at her and
knew she was ours and meant to be part of this family; and so
began our Journey to Libby!

“I
didn’t give you the gift of life,
but in my heart I know the love
I feel is deep and real,
As if it had been so.
For us to have each other is
like a dream come true!
No, I didn’t give you the gift of life;
Life gave me the gift of you!”
