Saturday, January 5, 2013 Today was a great day! We started bright and early and went straight to The Great Wall of China. It is breathtaking! We climbed a portion of it (it spans across 9 provinces), and took lots of pictures. There were a ton of people there and it was COLD--around 20 degrees and windy, brrrr! After that we went to a large Jade wholesale showroom. We had a traditional Chinese lunch at the restaurant there and then took a tour of the facility. It was go, go, go so after the tour, we went right onto Tiananmen Square and The Forbidden City. So many moments were surreal today as the backdrop was iconic Chinese landmarks I've only seen in movies. As I sat and really took it in that we are in China, I kept thinking--we meet Libby tomorrow!! So much will be different at this time tomorrow. I am grateful to know a little bit more about Libby's birth place. It is a special place. 1 more sleep to Libby!
