Monday, December 14, 2009 Hi everyone! Today was our one-week anniversary of Gotcha Day. It’s hard to believe that one week ago we meet Caroline Mei for the first time. She has already grown so much. Her personality is shining through more and more each day and she does new things every day. This morning we had to wait for our guide to go to the Consulate on our behalf. After the appointment was over we walked to Shamian Island. We did some more shopping of course! Ryan is getting very skilled at bargaining in the stores and Caroline got a pair of squeaky shoes. We also saw the portrait of Caroline that we had painted. It looks like her and it’s really beautiful. Then we had lunch at Lucy’s- yes more grilled cheese and onion rings. When we came back our guide took us shopping for pearls. The girls really enjoyed this. We had dinner with the whole group at the hotel tonight and played with Caroline after dinner. She amazes us with how much she learns each day. We can’t wait to bring our whole family home for Christmas. We’ll be home in THREE days!! Goodnight from Guangzhou!
