This will be our final update on this website. Leah has been in
our family for just over a year now, and I honestly have a hard
time remembering a time without her! She has fit so completely
into our family, and we couldn’t feel any differently about her
as any child born to us. We have had a fairly long and busy year
of adjustments, but we are truly in such a great place right
now. And we know that that will only continue to get better! She
is so much more comfortable with us now than a year ago, and
will be even more so a year from now.
We are really only going to take this time to give some major
thanks! First and foremost to our God for being so unbelievably
faithful and trustworthy! We are forever blessed by obeying His
call to adoption. Our families have also been so wonderfully
supportive! Our awesome daughters Kyra and Ryann have been, and
continue to be, such amazing sisters to Leah; and, have never
once not treated her like a “real” sister in the truest sense!
And what troopers they were in China! Additionally, we can
honestly never thank my (Jenn’s) dad and Aron’s parents enough
for making that crazy trek with us to China! I will also never
forget getting off the final flight home to big hugs from my
brother Chris and his wife Kate… you guys rock! And Aron’s
brother Alan came to visit and hold a very sleepy Leah on our
first full night home! As for our friends and neighbors… what
can we say? You had signs to welcome us home, you mulched our
flower beds, you painted our fence, you stocked our fridge, you
planned meals for us, and you went shopping for us while we were
in China when we realized we would need something when we got
home! You are all so special and dear to us that there are truly
no words to express that adequately. We need to give a very
special thank you to our dear friends Jessica and Jeremy Collier
who gave us one of the greatest gifts throughout this whole
process. Without them, we would not have known that Leah was
living in Beijing until it was too late to be able to visit her
home and school. We are so extremely thankful to them!
(Information on their adoption websites is in our December
update. And you may remember that they adopted Eli (Long Long)
who was one of Leah’s best buddies at Blue Sky in Beijing. We
are going to see them very soon, and will add pictures from that
visit to this post.) We love each and every one of you who have
been a part of this tremendous journey with us!!! God is so
good! |
