Hi friends and family. Our first China update. We arrived last
night safely in Beijing (exhausted but so excited!).
Today was a big day touring Beijing and learning about Kaden's
culture and homeland. We visited Tiananmen Square, the
Emperor's Imperial Palace in The Forbidden City and The Great
Wall. The elaborate and ornate architecture was stunning. The
grand scale of it all was breathtaking! The Imperial Palace
literally has 9,999.5 rooms and The Great Wall is approximately
5,500 miles long.
We have a wonderful guide named Alison, set up by the adoption
agency, that took care of all the details and translating for
us. We also met an amazing couple from Kentucky who are also
adopting through the same agency and we had the chance to share
with them and pray with them about our trip and our children. It
really helped being able to talk to a couple going through the
same experience and same emotions.
Today is Kaden's 2nd birthday! We are sad we don't get to be
with him today...but we are only two days away from having him
in our arms (and at least we're on the same continent now!).
We are flying to Kaden's province early tomorrow morning. One
step closer! |
