Our Family
Most of you know our history (our
very long history). Jason and I met at Forest Home church
camp at the age of 14...crazy to think about! Fifteen years
later...we got married. We always knew we wanted and were
going to have lots of kids (in my opinion, you could never
have too many kids or too many animals...just more to love).
Well, after many uneventful years, we started getting very
familiar with the verse Isaiah 55:8 "For my thoughts are not
your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the
Lord.". He wasn't kidding. I didn't understand God's plan
and couldn't fathom why He wouldn't want us to have
children. We had so much love to give and such a deep desire
to be parents. After we grieved the loss of two pregnancies,
we finally began to understand where God was leading us. We
know one day we will meet our other two children who are in
God's precious hands...but this whole time, God was gently
and lovingly guiding us to our son Kaden. I truly believe
that everything we went through, and all the years of
frustration, praying, wading through paperwork and road
blocks, were to bring us to this exact moment and this
specific precious child that God had chosen for us.
"I wait for the Lord, my whole
being waits, and in his word I put my hope". Psalm 130:5
Once we received the referral, the wait was heart breaking.
Knowing that our son was there, waiting for us...we didn't
want to miss another moment of his life. We were told we
wouldn't get our travel approval until January...but with
much prayer from those surrounding us, we received the call
that we were going to get to go early and that we would be
able to be in China for Kaden's second birthday...AND we
would be able to have him home for Christmas. God is great!
On that very day that we received the amazing news, I
received my daily bible devotional that gets sent to my
phone...it was John 14:18 "I will not leave you orphans; I
will come to you".
Overwhelming joy and wonder is all I can say! To all those
who have been a part of this incredible journey of faith,
love and God's amazing grace...thank you. Thank you for your
enduring love and support. We know that Kaden is going to be
welcomed into the loving arms of so many people who have
been there for us through it all.
