SWEARING IN DAY
I don't even know what day it is, We all discuss it often, in
confusion. And we count it out. Then 3 hours later, we forget
again and start all over. And such is life in China. We are here
for 2.5 more days.
Natalie, this first picture is for you. lol.
We went to the Pearl, Jade & Crystal market today, and my mom
finally felt at home. It was a 5 floored mall of jewelry. Enough
said. I have never seen anything like it. She was so happy, she
didn't know what to do with herself. She bought, tried on, and
haggled for jewels. John didn't know what to do with himself.
What does a guy do while the women are exploring a 5 floor mall
of jewels? He asked Emma if there was a mall for tools. She just
looked at him like he had 3 heads. She does that often to his
questions.
There were actually a few malls in the same place. It was
enormous. And they had McDonalds! I am not a fan of McD's At
all. Even though Samuel begs, we might go 3x a year. But here,
you realize the other options, then McD's is pretty good. Some
one had chicken nuggets for the first time. And she liked them.
Duh.
In the afternoon we went to the consulate to swear her in as an
American. YAY!!
And we are going to the zoo tomorrow for our last day. Check out
the pandas with our own eyes!!! We are real excited about that.
Except for John doesn't want to wake up early to go. |
Elena and me.
The mall.
My mom, smiling ear to ear in the midst of the malls.
|
The family with Emma. Samuel squashed himself into the rickshaw.
Discovering chicken nuggets.
Now, an official American citizen.
