OUR LAST DAY
Today was our last day in
China. Tomorrow morning, we leave the hotel at 6am and
go to the airport for the L-O-N-G journey home.
It has been a trip that can only be described as undescribable.
I tried to everyday, but really I only scratched the top on the
experiences. There is so much left unsaid. I tried.
Tonight, after we took the "Red Couch" picture taking of our
group, we all went out to dinner at an Italian restaurant. In
China. And can I say, it was DELICIOUS.
I KNOW!!! CRAZY!!
When I say we, I mean the 4 families who met in Nanning, and
connected. These are great people. We are as different as can
be, but now have so much in common. We laughed, we asked
questions & got answers, we agreed, we discussed, we told
stories and had experiences together and then we couldn't help
but realize, we need to keep in touch, for being here together
having the same struggles and joys has brought us together in a
way no one can understand.
Maybe not even us.
And we all agreed that even though we are done and are now ready
to go home, it was all worth it. It was worth the *food*, it
was worth the lack of sleep, it was worth the homesickness, it
was worth the struggle, it was worth the crying and turmoil, it
was worth the meltdowns, it was worth the suicide drivers, it
was worth not really ever catching up with the time change, it
was worth time and effort it took to get here. It has been
worth it all.
Because when we look into our daughters' eyes and see...it was
worth it all.
And now let me thank all of you who wrote us emails and wrote on
our guestbook. It was a like a cool refreshing drink in the
desert to receive them. It was wonderful to go on email and
read them. It was like being home for a minute or two and we
can't thank you enough.
And please remember to keep us in your prayers as we travel back
home tomorrow. Pray it is uneventful . We treasure your
prayers.
Quote of the Day: Sometimes, Elena calls out "mama" and yet
reaches for John. John, slightly freaked out - "Do you think
she thinks I am a woman because I have long hair???" Emma just
about died laughing.
