Monday, December 6, 2010 Our Forever Family Day: We LOVE God, and we LOVE China, and we LOVE Evie, and WE are the lucky ones!! After breakfast at the White Swan, we strolled down the beautiful streets on the Shamian Island. We saw people exercising in the parks and wedding couples being photographed. We stopped in a few shops and met Judy and Jordan. Mom found the Starbucks and got her caffeine fix and Maddie found the Subway and smiled from ear to ear while filling her belly. Our group boarded the bus at 2:00 to go to the Civil Affairs Office to meet and pick up our children. It was an amazing day full of joy! Evie didn’t cry and after a little while she fell asleep in mom’s arms. Easy. We got to meet the ladies from the orphanage and visit a bit. They were able to answer all of our questions and told us that Evie is an easy baby and healthy. We could feel the love they have for her and we hugged them and thanked them for taking such good care of her. When we got back to the hotel, we had a short paperwork meeting and ordered pizza. We enjoyed dressing and feeding Evie. Maddie is an excellent helper! We held and played with her all evening and sure enough, just as our update said, she was out like a light at 9 p.m. We just put her in the crib and she snored! She is SO sweet! We can’t wait for tomorrow! "For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11
