Good morning from Guangzhou! What a difference a day makes. We
had a great breakfast at the hotel and then we were off to the
medical office for Grace’s physical. Grace did pretty well
compared to some other children that were there. It was a busy
day and when we arrived there were over 75 children waiting to
be seen by the doctors. You had to go to 3 separate areas –
height and weight, ear and throat and general exam. I asked our
guide Jack to ask the doctor to check her ears and let me know
if she has an ear infection. No ear infection but I will have
her check again when we return home.
Our hotel is beautiful – bathrooms are clean and have toilet
paper available. When we were in Nanchang airport there were
only squatting type toilets with no toilet paper. I was told you
have to bring your own something I would of liked to have know
before using the bathrooms. Even in this beautiful 5 star hotel
there are no baby changing areas in the bathrooms. It’s a pain
especially when your out and about and need to change a large
poop diaper – (Kevin are you ready?) We did a little shopping
and since it was raining we came back to the hotel to finish
some Visa paperwork. We are going to have lunch and take the
girls to play tennis or walk around the hotel where there are
plenty of shops and things to enjoy.
Tomorrow we are going to the Panda Zoo. Jack says we can feed
the giraffes and for a small fee feed the baby tigers. We are
all excited to go and have some fun without any paperwork and
exams on our agenda.
Paul and I were cracking up in the elevator before , you have to
insert your card key to use the elevator and it would not work .
We kept trying and trying and then Samantha sees a sign blinking
that says “Overload”….. can it be possible we are too heavy for
the Chinese elevators????
