Its 10:45 pm at we just got into our hotel room at the Garden
Hotel. It is beautiful! Water fountains outside with music and
an unbelievable lobby. Piano player singing American songs – it
was so nice to hear music that we could understand. I just sent
Paul and Samantha into the lobby to take some quick pictures so
I had something to post tonight. We just ordered room service
and 2 very large Chinese beers. I don’t even like beer but
tonight I am having one!!
This was a very long day. We left Nanchang at 3:00pm for the
airport which was about a 45 minute drive. We arrived to find
out the flight was delayed over 1 hour. With all our luggage and
a “new baby” it was not easy. We have been travelling with
Meghan and Keith and their daughters Emma and baby Tessa. We
could not have asked for nicer friends . We finally boarded the
plane and immediately found out that Grace is not a frequent
flyer. She cried on and off for most of the flight so we were
happy it was a short 1 hour flight. Our next guide met us Jack
real nice guy, welcomed us with a Jeter Yankee shirt on and was
very helpful with the luggage and getting us out of the airport
quickly. Guangzhou has over 8 million people living here and it
is quite different from Nanchang. As we drove to our hotel the
streets were filled with people and tall colorful buildings and
large beautiful hotels and shopping areas. I am going to make
this brief I am so tired and we have to be in the lobby early .
Tomorrow Grace is having her physical.
The weather is supposed to be nice tomorrow and close to 80
degrees. Samantha can’t wait to go swimming.
Goodnight from Guangzhou! |
