Thank you everyone for all the Birthday wishes!! What better way
to celebrate my birthday than to be in China with my wonderful
husband and 2 beautiful daughters.
We had a great night last night. Everyone went to bed early and
we all slept the entire night except for Grace who woke up once
for a bottle but went right back to sleep. What a difference a
good night sleep makes . We all woke up around 6 am which is a
lot better than 4am. Went to breakfast and waited to meet
Shirley to go over the final paperwork so we can pick up the
passport for Grace. We are leaving tomorrow and its time to get
our room organized and pack up so we can leave tomorrow for
Guangzhou. We are staying at the Garden Hotel Guangzhou and it
looks so beautiful on line. Samantha is so excited , it has
pools, tennis courts and a spa where I promised to take her to
get one of their famous Chinese pedicures.
We went to visit the Tengwang Pavilion which was very close to
our hotel so we decided to walk. It is in Nanchang City in the
Jiangxi province. It lies on the south side of the Yangtze River
and is admired by visitors all over the world. It’s beautiful
inside and out. When you reach the top there is a walkway all
around with spectacular views of the Yangtze River. Inside is
filled with beautiful pictures and drawings on walls that tell
different stories. The gardens outside are filled with Bonsai
trees. All different types, some with the most beautiful
flowers. Fountains and ponds with fish and beautiful bridges
that you can walk across. It was a fun afternoon and we enjoyed
meeting our new guide for the day named Guilan. She was so nice
and very knowledgeable.
Tonight Paul is trying to decide if he just skips dinner or eats
one last night of the buffet of dumplings, fried rice and a few
other dishes we have eaten all week. I heard him dreaming last
night and he was talking in his sleep and I could of sworn I
heard him say in his sleep “could you please pass the bread”!
Too funny, he is dreaming of an Italian dinner and a nice glass
of red wine.
We are happy to be leaving Nanchang tomorrow but I am enjoying
the trip and don’t want it to go too fast. After waiting 4 years
to come to China we don’t want to rush this once in a lifetime
journey. Nanchang is the capital of Grace’s province so it will
always be very special to us.
Love to everyone and our next post will be from Guangzhou. |
