On our drive home
Bruce must have called us 10 times…”where are you now?” It was the
cutest thing!!! I caught maybe 2 hours of sleep on the drive home,
by no means enough. However as we pulled up to the driveway, all the
sudden, I didn’t care anymore. Bruce was about to meet his son.
These pictures tell the story much better than I could ever tell it.
I will just say this…what I have always known and felt in my heart
was unfolding before my eyes… “Bruce is going to be the best dad in
the world”. Bruce walks to the car and we wait…then a hand comes
stretching out of the car at the sound of Bruce’s familiar
voice…Bruce reaches to touch his hand…and well…the rest folks is
history. Rudd took to Bruce right away. Bruce took Rudd to the hall
way and new to let him turn on the light switch…then he opened the
door to his room and he had done the perfect thing…
BALLOONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I cried…cried…cried…we were going
to be ok. I was home…with my family. Please enjoy the pictures of a
father and son that were so meant to be…the pains of the trip
escaped me instantly.
We still have a long road ahead to ensure that Rudd feels secure and
safe and loved with his new forever family…but I can’t think of
anyone else in this world I would rather be going through life with
than my two boys!!
Thank you for following us during this journey and for all the
support each of you have given us. It truly will be cherished
forever and we will enjoy sharing Rudd’s story to him one day.
Well as I am writing you I am hearing my house fill up with a
child’s laughter and a father having a ball being a kid again…dogs
barking in excitement and I am sitting in a pile of dirty clothes
and toys are spread out everywhere…the house is a total wreck and I
wouldn’t have it any other way!!! Its just perfect!
Special thanks to Joe and Jen with myadoptionwebsite.com who made
this website possible and allowed us to share our story with all of
our friends and family…You did such a wonderful job!!!!!!!
And most importantly we would like to thank Josh and the staff at
Small World Adoptions in Nashville, TN and Val, Lianne and everyone
at Heartsent Adoption in California. Josh has been working with us
on our pending China adoption but also was extremely helpful with
our process in Taiwan. Heartsent of course brought us our little
Rudd and Lianne was extremely instrumental in making sure everything
was done and done in a timely manner. I also want to clarify that
the issues we had with our paperwork rested solely on government
agencies of which no one had control over. Heartsent did everything
in their power to assist and make things run smoothly. You just have
to be prepared in the process of international adoptions that
obstacles to happen. If it hadn’t been for them….well there would
not be a Red Thread Journey to Tell…. Thank you all from the bottoms
of our heart!!!!!
Love to you all!!!!
