It’s been several months since we have updated our website. We
have had a fun time this fall season and we look forward to all
of the joy that Christmas brings. Our family enjoys the change
of season and autumn is one of my favorites. It was a memorable
Thanksgiving for us as we enjoyed having Tia with us this year.
Last year we had received her picture on October 16 . It was
difficult to spend the holidays knowing that she was so far
away. She got her share of hugs and kisses this year! She also
enjoyed her share of turkey and pumpkin pie. Tia LOVES pumpkin
pie and whipped cream!! I especially enjoyed cooking in the
kitchen with Kassidy working by my side and Tia standing on her
stool waiting to sample all of the goodies. Shawn enjoyed
teaching Tia to say FOOTBALL. Tia loves to sit with daddy and
snuggle on the big chair.
As I have mentioned before Tia has a contagious smile. It makes
our hearts melt when we hear her belly laugh. It has been such a
pleasure to watch her grow and blossom. She has become much more
comfortable in her surroundings. She’s now taking ownership of
her toys and we often hear her say “Tia’s ball, Tia’s baby,
Tia’s book” etc… you get the picture. She’s a little spitfire
and not afraid to let you know it. She has recently started to
consistently use several words in phrases. She seems so happy
with herself that she is now able to communicate. It must have
been so hard to transition to a whole new language and a whole
new EVERYTHING. We are so thankful her transition has gone so
smooth.
Tia’s new favorite line is “Mama (or Dada), no night night yet!”
She’s starting to realize that things are still happening
downstairs after she goes to bed and she doesn’t want to miss a
thing. Sound like a normal 2 ½ year old thing? It seems like
she’s really grown up a lot recently. She’s already grown out of
some of my favorite outfits. Isn’t it silly the way moms feel
sad when favorite outfits need to be packed away?
We’ve experienced many precious moments and memories these last
few months. I stand in awe of the way God placed Tia with our
family and how she has been so open to our love. She has filled
our hearts with her joy of life, her spice, her silliness and
her tenderness. The Lord always knows what he is doing. Who are
we to doubt?
