DAYTON? DAYTON?
Sounds familiar…
Well, we are still in Hong Kong. Our flight was supposed to
leave at 3pm today, but now it is 3:10pm and we are still
sitting in the Red Carpet Clubroom, waiting on a plane.
Supposedly one has arrived and is being readied for our
flight….we’ll see.
The novelty of the Red Carpet club is wearing a little thin as
we are tiring of the same old snack menu after our seven hour
stint in here. We can hear the passengers below us in the gate
area who are waiting on their Cathay Pacific flight. It is
pretty entertaining to watch them and listen to them. They have
created a semi-riot situation with a large, angry crowd
completely surrounding one poor little man in a tie who is
trying to calm them down. He looks very nervous and sweaty. The
crowd is yelling and cheering every so often when one of them
makes a particularly good remark. John thinks it is Chinese
sarcasm being applauded, but since we don’t speak Cantonese, we
are pretty much in the dark. But some gestures and body language
are universal! :)
Gracie has done very well. She is happy as long as she has some
room to roam and a kitkat clenched in her fist. She tried to
fall asleep again on the tile, but John keeps waking her up,
hoping that she will sleep on the plane instead. Our diaper
supply is running low and we are still wearing our clothes from
yesterday (pee-you!) so we hope that we will make it out today
or else NO ONE will want to be sitting in our section of the
plane. I am determined that neither sleet nor snow nor typhoon
will keep me from shopping today should we stay another night,
so we are anxiously watching the boarding information…. John in
hopes of saving some money and Lisa in hopes of spending some.
As soon as we get home, we will post.
