September 15-16
Fly from Portland to San Franscisco to Guangzhou to GuiYang
September 16
Arrive in GuiYang 8:00pm. Happy Birthday Mom!!
September 17
Meet Nola in the morning!!! Then do loads of paperwork.
September 18
Hangin’ out and gettin’ to know each other.
September 19
Take a tour of a beautiful park, a Zen Buddist temple (Hong Fu
Temple) and the Jia Xiu Lou pavilion, built during the Ming
Dynasty. This’ll be a great way to celebrate Jennifer’s 40th
birthday.
September 20
See the GuiYang Children’s Welfare Institute and Nola’s “finding
place” (at the factory gates).
September 21
Rest, then fly from GuiYang to Guangzhou in the evening. This
will be Nola’s first airplane ride!
September 22
Nola gets a check up and gets her picture taken for her U.S.
Visa.
September 23
We get to go to the Safari Park in Guangzhou. This is where we
start Nola’s training to be a biologist.
September 24
Hang out during the day then take a river cruise in the evening
with the other adoptive families.
September 25
We submit Nola’s paperwork for her U.S. Visa and maybe do a
little shopping at the jade market.
September 26
Nola gets her U.S. Visa!!!
September 27
We’re going home!!! We leave Guangzhou in the morning and get to
Portland by mid-afternoon. What a day this will be.
September 28
Move into our new home. As my mother likes to say, “It’s an
exciting time to be alive!” |
