Today was the Consulate interview. What’s funny about that is that we didn’t actually go to it. Our guide does that for us. So all we had to do this morning was meet at the White Swan at 11:30 for the “red couch” pictures! We spent some time after breakfast buying Chinese silks for the girls… 12 total! What I love about this country is that all 12 were about $90. I love it! I got them a variety of colors and sizes to grow into. I also bought a place mat and chopsticks set for home. I may get another one too. I have actually been enjoying using chopsticks, and wouldn’t mind using them at home every now and again. The photo session was fun, and a little challenging with the little ones. We have 4 families in our travel group. We each took a turn having our family picture taken, and then one with the 4 new ones, and then one where Kyra and Ryann got in with the little ones. They are the only other siblings that are here. Only one other couple has 2 other children, who are at home. The other 2 couples are new parents! What an awesome Father’s Day for them! Ryan and Danielle who have Emma, are new parents, and she walked for the first time yesterday… and she did great with her shots yesterday, no bad reactions! Praise God!

We went to Lucy’s for lunch, and then to Starbucks for a late coffee for Mommy! The girls got down for a nap, and we hung out waiting to go swimming after nap. A thunderstorm started at naptime, but it passed in time to go swimming. Leah was not a big fan at first! But she quickly began to love it. We headed out for dinner to a place that we had seen when we first got here. They have seating out near the water, and we were excited to try it. We figured out what we wanted, but after 15 minutes with no one coming to take our order, we waved someone over. I said we were ready to order, and I was going to start with drinks so I asked for a bottle of water, but after I said that, she walked away, I’m guessing to get my water. We thought that if we had to order each item one by one, we’d be there all night. When she didn’t come back for 5 minutes, we got up and left. We headed over to the White Swan to eat instead. It was delicious, and the service was great! Much better choice! The girls ate great, and Kyra feel asleep at the table. Aron had to carry her back to our hotel, which is not easy… she weighs about 68 lbs.! We decided to wait and give the girls their baths in the morning so that she could go right to bed. Tomorrow we go to a tea shop in the morning, and take our oath at the Consulate in the afternoon!

So remember when I told you all how quickly our Leah would fall asleep… well apparently the more comfortable she gets, the longer it takes her to fall asleep! Don’t get me wrong, she’s still an excellent sleeper, it just takes her more time now to settle down and lay still. I’ll be glad when we’re home and I won’t feel the need to lay with her every nap and night until she falls asleep. I’m doing that now for two reasons. One is for bonding purposes, and the other is so that she doesn’t wake up her sisters (they are all sleeping together in the big bed) who fall asleep quickly. Yet another reason we are so ready to go home!

Ryann reading to Leah… she knows this story by heart
