Since we had nothing
scheduled today, we roamed about on Shamian Island after once
again starting our day at Starbucks. This time, we brought our
own "dairy" so we didn't use all of theirs! The heat was
unbearable, and took its toll on everyone's mood. We found a
really nice lady in one of the shops, and we think we got
"Chinese prices" on everything we bought! We visited a store
with all handmade items for sale that were very cute. We were
happy to find that all the proceeds go to China's children. We
had our usual dinner at Lucy's, and the only thing left after we
finished dinner was the plastic tablecloth! On the upside,
everyone believes they have shed a few pounds and will be
returning home with better fitting clothes!
Juliette has still been very upset and fussy, and we know her
tummy has been bothering her. We did however get one smile out
of her for the day on our way to dinner! We took Caroline to the
park by Lucy's again as something for her to do, but it is very
dirty and we were not thrilled. Caroline's behavior has
deteriorated significantly, and we have a lot of work to do when
we come home! She fell asleep not too late, but Juliette had
more trouble going to bed because of her tummy troubles. We are
hoping they will get better tomorrow.
We have another early morning ahead of us, as we are meeting our
guide at 9 am in the lobby for the Medical (ahhhh!). The medical
appointment was supposed to be the other day, but our guide
thought it would be better for Juliette to wait until Friday.
Then it's off to the Six Banyan Temple for a blessing for
Juliette.
