We left early this morning for Tiananmen Square and the
Forbidden City. We had no idea how large it was and the amount
of ground we had to cover. The size and scope, and the amount of
people were overwhelming. The buildings were beautiful and
awesome to see, but after awhile we were ready to hit the Silk
Market for some serious shopping! Ryan, our bargaining pro,
managed to score us a few great finds and we all came out happy
campers, including Caroline Mei with her new bead set!
Tomorrow
we are up early again, and leaving Beijing for Guangzhou. Juliette Song, here we come! Everyone is severely sleep
deprived, and no one can find a matching outfit. While in the
room this afternoon, housekeeping knocked on the door. When Ryan
asked if they could come back they replied "no" with smiles and
proceeded to clean our rooms with us in them!
We forgot to add
it in our Great Wall post yesterday, but on our way back down
Ryan and daddy overheard a British woman complaining about the
condition of the steps to her husband: "this is ridiculous! This
is not a proper staircase!" (in a British accent).
Tomorrow is
our last night before we get Juliette, at which point our hotel
room will become even more messy than it already is! See you
tomorrow, goodnight from Beijing! |
