In China
All Days  |  Previous Day  |  Next Day

Sunday, August 31, 2014

Our days now begin at 1 in the morning because Caroline has her days and nights reversed. She falls asleep for the night around 3 in the afternoon and wakes up for the day around 1 in the morning. We headed downstairs for a very early breakfast before leaving for the airport where we saw two other couples who were later on our flight to Guangzhou. We were wondering if they are adopting too. We will know today if we see them at the Civil Affairs building. Our flight was not too long, but a little bumpy because we landed in Guangzhou while it was raining. We love our guide, she brought us to a supermarket after we checked into our hotel to get lots of water, and she has taken care of every little thing for us so we don't have to worry about a thing. She even called the orphanage to find out what Juliette drinks so we could buy her formula at the supermarket!

As we write this, daddy is watching French TV with English subtitles in the heart of China! It is also 5 am! We set up our hotel rooms like a mini house for the next 10 days, and even decorated Juliette's crib with her toys and blanket. We also found CNN in English, which has now been playing since we got here in both rooms. We are just so happy to hear English TV! Still having trouble finding food, so last night's dinner was oatmeal and cup o' noodles. We're going to be so happy to see Costco when we come home!

We're picking Juliette up at 2:00 pm today at the Civil Affairs building, so our next post will include Juliette as it will be Gotcha Day!!! Good morning from Guangzhou!

It's morning for Caroline, 1 am

Thanks to Caroline, we were the second group of people in the breakfast room at 6 am

Two out of these three people look a little sleepy!

The coffee seems to be helping this group along!
