Friday, August 29, 2014 Hi Everyone! We finally made it! After an endless plane ride, we made it to our hotel after 23 hours of traveling. Our plane ride went mostly smoothly and we landed a half hour early. However, Caroline now sleeps during the day and is up during the night! We fell asleep early, since we were all very tired. This morning, we met our guide early and headed off to visit the Great Wall. It was a great day to go because it was quiet and cool. We took cable cars all the way up to the top, and then climbed up two towers. It was an amazing site! We even made it to the top of the larger watch tower! The section of the wall we visited was called Mutianyu Great Wall, and was about 3,258 feet off the ground! Before leaving, Ryan bargained like a pro and we all got shirts for "the Chinese price" as our guide put it. As we are writing this at midnight, Caroline is wide awake and telling us that she's got lots of energy! Our alarm is set for five hours from now, and then we are off to the Forbidden City bright and early tomorrow morning. Goodnight from Beijing!
