Today was a free day.
We are on our own. Sort of. Since Emma never really did make it
to us, and Lilly has other stuff going on, we get to figure out
what we get to do.
We met another couple here from Georgia. Their little girl,
Imerie is almost 4. She and Elena are funny together. We ended
up going with that family and their guide to The Cave. We took
this bus ride through the most beautiful and stunning views out
to the country. And of course, as with anytime we get in a
vehicle, we were thankful to survive the crazy driver. And they
are all crazy drivers.
Elena is doing much better. Every so often, she gets melancholy
and starts to cry. She has bonded with John and adores Samuel.
She is allowing me to do things with her. Sometimes. We knew it
could go that way. John, of course is loving it. Even when his
arms are about to fall of from carrying her. She doesn't walk
too much, and sometimes I wonder if it hurts her to walk.
She finally let us change her!! She refused to let us change her
clothing before. She let us change her shoes, as she LOVES her
pink crocs and her pink sneakers. But that's it. And she had
been wearing her top & bottom that had mango juice and pizza on
it. Eww. And I bet the Chinese people thought we were not taking
very good care of her because she looked like a slob when they
saw her. But WE WERE TRYING!!!! We will see if she lets us
change her tomorrow.
Tomorrow we are going to a water village with the same couple.
They are such kind people. And it beats sitting in the hotel
room.
Quote of the Day:
The lady who sold us tangerines in front of the cave freaking us
out:
"You better hide them or the monkeys are going to grab them
from you."
She was NOT kidding. |
