It is definitely time to come home when:
(1) I find myself amused by the Chinese QVC channel;
(2) I’m reading news stories about wild civets eating ripe
Arabika coffee fruits on Bali island (hence the ridiculous cost
of Starbucks coffee); and
(3) were sick of the 5 star all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet.
GIVE ME some real news a/k/a the Colbert Report.
We poked around the hotel today and did some last minute
shopping in the neighborhood (who wants Wrigley’s Gum in Chinese
packaging?). One very important item we did pick-up was an
appropriate “red couch” dress for Ava. It is custom for many
adoptive families completing their trip in Guangzhou to gather
the children together for a red couch photo at the White Swan
Hotel. So, at the appointed hour of 7:00PM by the birdcage
couches, we kept the custom alive.
In between shopping and the red couch party, Michelle had a
mid-day foot massage and back therapy, Richard delivered Ava’s
Visa, we had dinner at Lucy’s Bar & Grill and I ended the
evening with a swim.
Enjoy the photos. We’ll be home soooooon!
