It is hard to believe we have been home for one week! I miss
waking up each morning and looking out the window at the
breathtaking view of West Lake! Now I just wake up and look out
the window at the beautiful leaves changing colors and praise
God for bringing us home safely! What an awesome God we serve!
Each day we are seeing God work on our little Zoe’s heart. Each
day she is letting us love her even more than the day before! We
had a rough 4 days with the whole time change-Zoe wanted to wake
up at 2:30 am and stayed up until about 5:30 am then back to
sleep until 7:30. After a couple of days without naps she
finally slept through the night-Praise God! Tom and I got a
nasty cold virus as soon as we got home and with no sleep on top
of it we were draggin’.
We love to watch Zoe with Zach and Bay! She adores both of them
and mimics everything they say and do! They introduced Zoe to
her first WWF wrestling match. At first she just sat back in awe
and took it all in. The next night she was on top of Tom, Zach
and Bay screaming at the top of her lungs! Bay could not stand
it any longer and just had to paint Zoe’s fingernails and
toenails. Zoe couldn’t get to BaBa fast enough to show him and
get his approval of his pretty girl! She is 100% a girly girl!
She loves to walk around the house with jewelry on, backpack on,
sunglasses on and a hat or hair bow in her hair! Zoe loves to
clown around and make Zach and Bay laugh. She squints her little
eyes and points her little finger and babbles something to them
in Chinese and they just die laughing so Zoe keeps up her
performance. It seems as if we have two performers in our family
and both of them love the spotlight!
On Sunday Zoe attended her first church service and Sunday
school class and she did pretty good! Zoe and Bailey looked so
cute in their matching China Girl dresses! During praise and
worship she sang “I’m coming back to the heart of worship” at
the top of her lungs and I am sure God was just smiling down on
her and He understood every word she said. Thanks to my friend
Cindi for her endless supply of stickers and paper we made it ¾
of the way through church service before we had to leave! I
decided when Zoe tried to attack the man in front of us with her
ink pen it was a good time to exit! When we pray at the table it
is so cute to see her hold hands with the kids then in her
little innocent voice say Amen!
We have made 2 trips to the doctor already and I am sure by her
screams that she doesn’t want to see any more needles for
awhile. I think I am pretty safe saying that Tom is ok with not
having to catch any more urine samples and poop samples also. I
am so thankful that he was here to do the dirty work-I am sure
that is why God gave him and iron stomach. The doctors just
laughed when I handed him her medical records all written in
Chinese. He looked her over and said she looked great. He did
hear a large heart murmur, but said that was common after the
surgery she had. Our doctor also gave us a referral to a
Pediatric Cardiologist and Tom and I are anxious to hear what
they have to say! We want to know exactly what her surgery
entailed and if she will need any more surgeries. Today she got
five shots and 10 mm of blood drawn and by the end of the night
her little legs were so sore she cried if I sat her down to
walk. She kept saying “Owies”! After a stressful morning we
treated Zoe to the China Buffet and she ate her little heart out
all the while saying “Yummy!” The owners of the restaurant all
tried to talk to Zoe in Chinese and she would have none of that!
Finally as we were leaving she said goodbye in Chinese. I also
felt the need to introduce her to M&M’s and I know for sure she
is my girl because she ate the entire bag and wanted more.
