Good grief! We have finally made in to Guangzhou and the
White Swan Hotel. Due to bad weather, our group's flights were
delayed throughout the night. We finally got on our plane a
little after 10:30 pm. It was close to 2:00 am by the time we
checked in to our hotel. Lilli was a trooper. I can't say the
same for her parents. Of course, she was curled up sleeping
throughout most of the night. I tried to do the same, but Sean
had too much luggage to carry!!
The White Swan and surrounding area are as nice as I could have
imagined. It is a wonderful way to finish up the last leg of our
trip. Lilli continues to "come out of her shell." She is a sweet
little girl. She can also be quite vocal with her screeching!
She is wearing a new pair of squeeky shoes and giggles every
time you press down on the heels to make them squeek.
This morning after breakfast, we all visited a local photo shop
to have the babies' pictures taken for their U.S. Visa. After
doing that, we walked to the examination office to have all of
the babies' medical exam. Lilli passed with flying colors! Of
course, the nurses made some comments about Lilli's chunky legs!
Lilli was not impressed.
I have included some more photos. Tomorrow is Sunday and our
group has the day off! We will be visiting a Buddhist Temple,
and arts and crafts shopping center, etc. and then finishing the
evening off with a group dinner at a local Thai restaurant. I
hear it is delicious.
I was able to purchase a few "surprises" today for Logan Smith
at a shop called "Jordans". We met Jordan and he was very
friendly and eager to learn what we "foreigners" were interested
in when it came to purchasing items at his store. He also called
Lilli a "pretty little Buddha baby." Whatever. Maybe I should go
ahead and sign her up for a Gold's Gym membership?!
Hope all of you guys are doing well. We are beginning to see a
light at the end of the tunnel, but I am cherishing this time
and appreciating the process needed to bring Lilli Kate home to
Georgia. |

Delayed!!!

Early on in the delay at the Jiangxi Airport.
Still able to smile...at this point!
