Thursday, November 13, 2014 ORPHANAGE VISIT AND EAST LAKE Thank you all for the comments. We love reading them and miss everyone back home! God is amazing and we are still in Awe of everything. Today we got `to visit` the Orphanage today. It is located about thirty minutes from our hotel. It's nestled in with apartment buildings. It has a large iron gate with a guard. We were greeted by three of the Orphanage staff. They led us straight up to the sixth floor. Our first stop was the rehabilitation room. My friends daughter was in there and I was able to go in and see her. She was so precious and even walked to me and hugged me. She also ran to my mother in law. We were able to get a few pictures for her Mama! Next we visited a couple preschool rooms. The first one they were playing drums and the kids joined in the class. Most of the kids in this class had down syndrome. All the children had such sweet personalities and seemed really happy. The next few rooms we seen children doing activities. We also seen the water therapy room where there was a little boy floating in a bubble jacuzzi tub with a floaty around his neck. We also seen the medical room where Hope got an IV just a few days prior to meeting us. Apparently she had been sick for awhile. It was a really short tour and then we were heading back to the hotel to pick up the rest of the group that didn't go to the orphanage. We headed then to the East lake. Which is the largest lake in all of China. It was beautiful scenery. We only got an hour to walk around so we didn't get far. We are now back preparing for nap time. We are going out for a group dinner tonight!
