ADOPTION DAY
Today Hope is officially ours in the eyes of the Chinese
government! Last night we had a tough time getting her down but
once she was asleep she slept good. She is definitely a heavy
sleeper. She slept next to me in the bed and I didn't dare move
her to the crib because I though she would wake up, but now that
I know she sleeps deeply she will be in the crib tonight.
After another great breakfast we met our guide and other
families in the lobby at 830. We had to go back to the Civil
affairs office. We were a little nervous about going back to the
office since Hope cried the entire time in there yesterday. But
she is already really comfortable with us and did not shed one
tear there. Some of the Orphanage staff were really happy to see
her happy and were taking pictures of her ( for the foster
family I'm sure). She let Steve carry her around most of the
time to give my arms a break. She even got down and played a
little in the playroom. We were interviewed and promised that we
would take care of her and that all our information was correct.
After that we signed and put our fingerprints over our
signature. At the end they needed a foot print from her.
We got our first family photo in this office. All the kids are
still doing great. There is another little boy in our group that
loves the boys and in constantly trying to play with them. When
we left the office Hope fell asleep on the bus in Steve's arms.
we laid her down in the crib once back in the room and she slept
while we ate our lunch in the room. After she woke up we fed her
some noodles. Steve also start doing some laundry in the tub and
sent off our jeans to be cleaned. Right now the kids are working
on some homework and Zoe is playing with Hope. We had some
jealousy issues earlier but they were mainly about Chase and Zoe
trying to share Hope. Everyone wants to play with her because
she is so fun and cute!
Tomorrow we have a tour planned and then Thursday we will visit
the Orphanage. We were not granted permission to visit the
foster family. |
