Ahhh sooo, we think we have solved one of the Orient's
biggest mysteries...

Q. What do you do if you refuse to use a squat potty..

A. Lots of Laundry.

Dave refuses to take credit for the above. No sweat, I'll claim it.

Today, we had a wonderful dim sum lunch/ buffet here at our hotel. It was some of the best food we think we have ever tasted. There were many unusual flavors and choices. We steered clear of things that still had the head attached. Each time we would get up from the table, we had 2 waiters coming over and re-folding our cloth napkins!

It has been so much fun just exploring the streets of Hong Kong. Walking miles up and down back alleys, marketplaces we took in all the sights, sounds AND smells of a different land. It is truly amazing how the you see such opulence in one block and extreme poverty just around the corner.

A visit to  the Jade market resulted in our first experiences of the bargaining process. After the Jade market, we went further into the business district to an area known as the 'Night Market', appropriately named for it's very late night hours of operation. It's after midnight and it's so crowded you can hardly move through the narrow isles. It was here that we found a local artist to record Elizabeth's Chinese name on rag paper to frame when we get home (and got Johns name in Chinese to match) along with many other fun tangible items to remember our time in Hong Kong.

After running out of Hong Kong dollars, it was time to return to the hotel.

The trip so far has been amazing and each time we see a Chinese little girl we can't help but think of our new daughter that we will be meeting for the very first time in only a few more days! The excitement is hard to contain knowing we are this close!!

Until tomorrow,
~Susan and Dave.
