BEIJING!
Beijing is a wonderful city. It is teaming with
life. There are people from all over the world
who visit and do business. The Chinese people
are so proud of their country and culture. They
have set a goal of 35% of the Beijing population
to be fluent in another language by the Olympics
next year in order to make visitors feel
welcome.
Yesterday we visited Tian a Men Square. You can
see Roy with the monks. He is so shy…It rained
most of the day, but we were so happy to be here
that we were grateful that the rain kept the
heat away. We toured the Forbidden City and
Imperial Palace. Unbelievably large and grand,
and forbidden to all but the Royal family and
official visitors until the last emperor.
Then we climbed, yes CLIMBED the Great Wall. It
truly is a wonder and we can not believe we were
able to experience it. We are bonding with the
other families in our group. Already, they ask
how I put up with Roy’s antics. He is having
fun, and they all think he’s a joker. Wait until
you see his Mao watch that he bought for $2.
Everyone is giddy about today. We will fly to
Nanchung and receive our babies this afternoon.
Roy is about to actually shave. He is nervous
with excitement and says he wants to make a good
impression on Ava Claire. I have never felt so
at peace. Stay tuned for photos of our little
bundle…
