SUNDAY IN
GUANGZHOU
We have been having a great time here in Guangzhou! We have been
to the park, on bumper cars and roller coasters...we have been
to a medical exam where the US claims we had to give our sweet
girlie 5 shots- and a TB test. She came through with flying
colors- she cried, but recovered really quickly considering. I
am so thankful to hear that the US side of things are changing
and soon, maybe, other kids won't have to go through all that.
We have also been shopping on Shaimin Island. Got some good
gifties. Got many photos taken with us. Or should I say the
rockstar of our group, Sam. We ate at Lucy's- and eh....don't
need to go back there. We have hung out in the room, gotten our
nails done (well, Katie and I did) and watched movies. We have
been swimming, played basketball and hackey sack and hung out
with our travel group buddies. Our group is awesome! One family
is on My Adoption Website too - journey to Lily! Go visit and
say hello to their sweet family. They are great.
Tomorrow, we have to take Lauren back to the medical clinic to
have them check her TB test- which is non existent. So I am
pretty sure we are in the clear. Then we are in the home
stretch. All of us are ready to come home!! Cannot wait. We are
coming home Friday around 8pm. : ) Cannot wait.
Lauren update - amazing. She is amazing! Pure sunshine is a
perfect description. She has moments of grieving, which I am sad
for, and glad for. I know she was loved beyond measure. She is
HYSTERICAL. She is a perfect fit for our goofy family.
From Sam:
Hello to everyone in Mrs. Anderson's class! Today we got to
go to Shaimin Island. There were lots of shops. We saw a man who
made paintings just with his fingers and they were amazing. I
will bring some home so you can see them. I also saw people
exercising in a park. Yesterday we went to a big park that had a
lake in it. We got to go on paddle boats and we played on the
playground. There were even amusement park rides! I went on
bumper cars and swings- and a roller coaster. They were fun. I
miss being home! Lauren is so funny. She laughs a lot. She calls
me Ge Ge which means big brother. You pronounce it Guh Guh. Talk
to you tomorrow!!
From Katie:
Hi Miss White's class-
I miss you a lot! We went to the park yesterday! We got to ride
a roller coaster. It was so fun. We got to go on a paddle boat
and exercise equipment. It was so much fun. Today we went to
Shaimin Island and went shopping. I got new slippers and a hair
clip and a silk bag. There were brides and grooms ALL over the
island getting their pictures taken! They were all dressed up. I
will talk to you tomorrow! I miss you!
Here are some faces of Lauren! : ) |
